Sex Therapy

Sex Therapy

At Affirming Psychology, we work with individuals and couples/partners to help people address factors that are impacting their sexual functioning and satisfaction. Sometimes, that means the therapist is treating a specific sexual dysfunction (e.g., erectile difficulties, sexual/pelvic pain, low sexual desire). Frequently, individuals or partners are coming to sex therapy because they feel complicated emotions around their sexual interests/history, or do not know how to navigate sexual differences and challenges with partners. It comes as no surprise to our therapists that sexual issues are often ignored or misdiagnosed, or that clients often have difficulty even seeking out sex therapy. Many of us have felt the messages and education we have received around pleasure, consent, and sexual health fell short or, in some cases, were shaming and harmful.

Kay and Kat are sex therapists and invite clients to unpack sexual shame, learn coping strategies, heal attachment wounds, and shift their relationship to sex.
